Hi all, my name is Niina Merilaita and I’m excited to be a president of JCI United this year! My most important task as a president is to enable the success of my board members.
After the strange lockdown and restrictions years, it is now time to meet and build up our community. I warmly welcome our members to join our events, projects and the conference trips. I hope that you make most of your time in JCI and participate as much as you can.
During the days, I develop 3D-printed tools at Valmet.
DP, Deputy President
As our chapter’s Deputy President, I will aim to make the prospective members feel at home. I will also thrive to support our current President so she doesn’t have too much on her backlog!
I will be working hard to learn the ropes of administrative tasks, board work and leadership. I will be attending JCI Deputy President trainings and at the same time working toward the official manager degree (Lähiesimiestyön ammattitutkinto). With all this, I will have a great start for my (hopefully) future PRES year.
In “real life” I work as a business intelligence consultant.
IPP, Immediate Past President
Hello, my name is Christian Kutschke and I support JCI United as Immediate Past President. Last year I had the honor to be president of our chapter. In the beginning of this year I am working together with last year’s treasurer on the annual plan and financial statement of last year.
One of my roles is to support this year’s board with my experience from last year and help our chapter to reach this year’s goals.
I am also member of the project team for the International Employer 2022 which is a nationwide project by JCI Finland. I also have the honor to be member of the European Sustainability Committee this year.
This will also be my last year at JCI as I have reached the age limit, so I plan to make the best out of it!
I am the quirky type who just loves everything related to administration and I enjoy my life when things that are in order! Well, at least most of the time… 🙈
I’m also eager to be involved in the board work and I want to work towards developing our chapter and making sure our members get full value out of this hobby and find the opportunities that interest them!
This hobby has given me so much and I love how one can always find new ways of “hobbying” at JCI: The first year I was deeply involved in a big project. Next, I became obsessed about trainings and attended around 50 JCI trainings during one year! I’ve gone through the leadership development (aka presidential) path and been involved in a huge international project (JCI European Academy), so I can’t wait to see what comes next!
I truly can attest to the saying that “JCI is like a buffet where you can choose what you want to take”! 😍
